Prefer to own outright?
Ownership — $5,000 one-time.
We build the site, hand you the full code repo, and you're on your own (or add a $99/mo Care Plan for ongoing support). Good fit for businesses that prefer to own their stack end-to-end, or agencies buying on behalf of clients.
- ✓Full code repo transferred to your GitHub
- ✓You own the hosting account, domain, everything
- ✓No subscription, no recurring fees
- ✓Optional $99/mo Care Plan for updates and support
Already on a subscription?
You can convert to Ownership at any time for the same $5,000. We transfer the repo, walk you through self-hosting setup, and you're out — clean break, no hard feelings. This option is in every subscription contract, not buried in fine print.
What's included
No asterisks.
Here's exactly what the monthly fee covers and where the lines are drawn.
Hosting on our infrastructure
We host your site on Vercel under our account. You don't sign up for anything, pay no separate hosting bill, and get enterprise-grade uptime baked in.
SSL, backups, security updates
Standard on every tier. We patch dependencies monthly and monitor uptime 24/7.
Your domain stays yours
You own your domain on your own registrar. We just point it at the site. If you leave, you keep it.
Your data stays yours
Content, images, lead submissions, analytics — all exportable on request. You own everything you put into the site.
Usage overages: passed through at cost + 20%
If your site grows past free-tier thresholds (rare for SMBs — typically thousands of visitors/day), the extra cost is itemized on your invoice. We'll email you before any overage hits.
Pricing FAQ
Questions on cost, answered.
Why subscription instead of a one-time build?
Two reasons. One: it's cheaper to get started — you're not paying $5-15k upfront. Two: a website isn't "done" when it launches. It needs updates, security patches, new content, tweaks as your business grows. Subscription bundles all of that into one monthly number instead of emergency invoices every time something needs attention.
Do I own the code? What if I want to leave?
The source code stays with us — that's how subscription pricing works, same as Webflow, Squarespace, or Shopify. BUT: you own your domain, your content, your lead data, and your designs. At any time you can convert to Ownership for a one-time $5,000 and we hand you the full code repo. Or you cancel and keep your last-deployed site live on your own hosting for 30 days while you migrate.
What if Orbit shuts down?
Written into every contract: if we ever wind down, we push your code to a GitHub account of your choice and give you 60 days of migration help. You are never stranded. No hostage situations.
What do I actually pay for — besides the monthly fee?
Your domain (~$15/year at GoDaddy, Namecheap, etc.) and nothing else for 99% of clients. We cover hosting, email sending, database, SSL, analytics, backups — it's all on our infrastructure. If your traffic or database usage outgrows free tiers (rare), we pass through the overage at cost + 20%, itemized on your invoice.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes, no contracts, no auto-renewal traps. Cancel and your site stays live for 30 days (grace period). After that it goes offline, and we keep your content exportable for 60 more days. Your domain, your lead data, your content — always yours.
What if I'd rather just own the whole thing outright?
Ownership tier: $5,000 one-time. You get the full code repo, no subscription, no ongoing fee. You're responsible for hosting it and maintaining it. You can optionally add a $99/mo Care Plan for security updates and support. Good fit for agencies buying on behalf of clients, or businesses that prefer to own their stack.
What's actually different from Wix or Squarespace?
Real code (Next.js + Vercel), not a page builder. 3-5x faster page loads, better SEO, no monthly "upgrade your plan to remove our branding" nickel-and-diming, and the design isn't locked to someone else's template system — we customize as far as you want to take it. On the same monthly budget you get a site that actually performs.
Can I upgrade/downgrade tiers later?
Yes, anytime. Upgrade: prorated from the day you upgrade. Downgrade: takes effect at your next billing cycle.
Payment terms?
Setup fee paid when we kick off. First month of subscription starts when the site goes live. Billed monthly via Stripe. Cancel anytime.
Do you work with clients outside of Minnesota?
Yes. Everything is remote — discovery calls over Zoom, async work after that. We're based in Shakopee, MN, and we work with clients across the US.
Not sure which tier fits?
Tell us about your business and we'll recommend the tier that makes sense. If we're honestly not the right fit, we'll say so.
